I am having tremendous problems with my blog the last couple of weeks. It’s so slow and not accepting comments from the majority of people – I’ve had no end of complaints. This is, if course, very bad for business and is causing me a lot of problems so I may have to move to a new hosting provider. That will mean a temporary interruption in service I think, but I can’t go on with this ‘sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t thing I have going on right now.Peple get frustrated if the site they’re trying to get to doesn’t work immediately and they walk away. I can’t afford for that to happen. I make my livelihood from this site.
My hosting service was fantastic, really fast and helpful – right up until the time when getting your money back for lack of service stopped being available. Ever since then they suck. There’s no other word for it. I’m going to have to scrape some money together to move it somewhere else, but I can’t do that yet because I only just moved my domain to a new host and I don’t think it’s over the 60 days yet. I might have to get a new domain and keep this one for general stuff. I have too much to do right now to work it all out.
If you have recommendations I’d love to hear them. I’ve only had one recommendation so far and that’s way out of my price range, but it does have unlimited bandwidth and can stream the videos that I need for my class. I may have to just suck up the cost and deal with it.
In the meantime I’ve got rid of some of the things that load slower and streamlined things a bit. Any chance a few of you could try to leave a comment so I can see if it’s working or not? If you do try and it doesn’t work, I’d be grateful if you’d drop me a dm on twitter @rhomany or use the contact form on my about page. If you can tell me what happened that stopped you leaving a comment I might be able to fix that at least.

Yay! I’m so glad it’s working now! Now to see if email notifications are working. In theory this should notify you that I’ve replied. But it could also be something I’ve turned off and haven’t put back in yet. So it’s a bit of a shakey theory…

I recommend you move your website to Liquid Web. That’s who I’m using and I’ve not had any issues since I moved to their services. Also, I recommend registering your domain name separately from your host — I suggest use Go Daddy for this purpose.
Also, make sure your domain name registrant is listed as you, not as your hosting company. The registrant is the legal owner of the domain name.
