Links&Things

Just a few links to share with you today.

First off, if you’re a lover of colourful, whimsical art go check out the work of Chris Larkin. It’s both simple and detailed, subdued and colourful, everyday and whimsical – all at the same time. I absolutely love it. He’s also on twitter @chris_larkin.

Another fabulous artist is Kelly Vivano. I saw a picture of hers the other day on Wasted Winter and couldn’t find out who it was by. Then heather posted a link to her page on twitter and I realised it’s the same artist. She has an amazing use of colour that makes everything look like it’s lit by candlelight. Totally magical.

There’s a lot of ‘entrepreneurial marketing’ blogs out there (I dislike those two words so much it’s not even funny, but I digress) Make Big Art is a little bit different. Not only is it aimed squarely at artists, it has practical advice, walkthrough’s (I finally worked out how to set up – and find again – facebook fan pages) and all in all it has very good, simple and practical advice for the artist who would rather be making art than making to do lists.

On a non-art note, if, like me, you finish one book and then all it’s sequels and then wonder what on earth you should read next, check out The Book Seer.

I’ve finally figured out Facebook fanpages and created on here. I’ve wanted to do this for a while as I’d like to keep my own Facebook page just for friends and family. There’s some things you don’t want to share with the world, and a lot of people on my Facebook page have friended me for the art and workshops, not because they know me personally (although some do of course). So if you’d like to join the fanpage please do, it’ll be updated with art stuff, art journal workshop info, etsy stuff and dates when I’ll be at craft fairs and whatnot.

And that’s it for today’s links because I have a ton of stuff to do for the Craft Fair in oh… 16 days. Ya. No panicking here. None whatsoever.
