Art Journal: Coloured Mists

Transcribing videos today, and since most of that involves talking to my computer, I get to muck about on paper while I do it, since it’s not physically possible for me to just sit down and do one thing at a time. I’ve spent most of the day with a pen or brush in one hand, throwing Squeaky Ball for the puppy with the other and waiting for my computer to figure out what I said.

I finished off this page with a portrait in black Biro and coloured it with purple & white Sakura Glaze pens and a waterbrush. The left side of this is part of an Alexander McQueen advert from Harpers Bazaar UK. I adore those advert concepts.

I’m playing with more portraits in my watercolour Moleskine, but I’m not sure I like the paper for water media, it works exceptionally well for pen though. Maybe I’ll keep it for pen doodling and find another for watercolours.

Most of my week will be spent the same way, but on the plus side, I get to do lots of sketching and planning and trying new things, because although I have no choice but to be sat at my computer, I am, at least, ‘hand-free’.

Apart from the one that has to throw Squeaky Ball at the right angle for it to bounce out into the hall, ping off the stairs and back along the landing.

Don’t forget tomorrow’s FREE live class on UStream at 5pm GMT, where I’ll be playing with watercolour media and flowers, as requested by Gulfsprite.

And do check out the new Calendar of Events to see what’s happening when!
